Newquay Education Trust (NET) is a Multi Academy Trust comprising of founding member schools Newquay Junior Academy and Newquay Tretherras.

The IT & Media Services Team are one of the first centralised services operating at Trust level across member sites.

We have two vacancies for 1st line apprentices, who will work as part of the central service team and operate from both Newquay Tretherras and Newquay Junior academies on a rotational basis with support from the wider team.

The role of 1st line technician is an important one. You will work as part of the IT & Media Services team and often be in a situation which requires you to troubleshoot and assess technical issues, aim to provide a technical support service, and resolve problems yourself where possible. All issues and their associated work are logged on a well-established web-based Helpdesk product which allows direct user submission of requests, self-service and knowledgebase information, as well as email submission and live chat features. This solution is what organises team work, as well as ensuring that communication between the team and end users remains at a consistent high quality. It also allows for team collaboration, prioritisation and escalation when required.

The post holder must have a strong interest in IT and a desire to learn new knowledge and skills.

The IT & Media Services team have a long history of supporting Apprentices, and indeed some of the team started their careers as Apprentices themselves. You will be supported and encouraged to progress, but it will be an expectation for you to excel. We want someone enthusiastic and proactive who isn’t afraid to take their own initiative or share their own ideas.

If you think this opportunity suits you please feel free to complete an application form, or contact the Director of NET IT & Media Services for an informal chat first.
