Day 1
08.40 Arrive at NJA
08.50 Class Registration
09.00-10.30 Orienteering
10.30 BREAK
10.45 Problem solving activities
12 noon LUNCHTIME
12.30 Leave NJA to travel to Newquay Forest School
13.15-14.00 Nature walk ending at camping site (children to carry small ruck sack)
14.00-14.30 Introductions, site orientation and safety talk
14.30-16.00 Setting up camp, collecting firewood, preparing dinner
16.00–17.30 Woodland Workshop – rotation of activities (archery/woodland craft/woodwork)
17.30-18.15 Dinner
18.15-19.15 Camp fire with marshmallows and hot chocolate, ending with evening routine
19.15-20-15 Night walk and evening meeting
20.15-20.45 Final check and lights out
Day 2
07.00 Wake up call
07.30-08.00 Breakfast
08.00-08.30 Pack down
08.30-10.00 Woodland Workshop 2 – rotation of 3 activities (wildlife discovery/foraging/outdoor cooking)
10.00-10.30 Final meeting and summary – check site
10.30-11.30 Walk back, woodland games and pack up transport
11.30 Return to NJA
12.10-13.00 Lunch provided at NJA
13.00-14.00 Follow-up activities from Forest School
14.00-14.55 Final problem solving activity
14.55 Normal hometime collection from NJA
Suggested Kit List Year 4 Forest Camp 2016
Two complete changes of clothing (as a general rule of thumb, old clothing, labelled if possible)
Fleece or warm coat
Night wear
Waterproof jacket
Sun hat and sun cream (we are optimistic!)
Woolly hat (just in case!)
Toiletries and a small towel
Sleeping bag and pillow
Torch
Drinks bottle / container
A black bin liner for wet or dirty clothes
Sensible shoes/Wellington boots for wearing on camp
Inhaler if necessary (please name)
Lunch for the first day
Cameras will be the responsibility of the child, disposable cameras are a good option
Please make sure that all items, where possible, are clearly labelled.
NO MOBILE PHONES, ELECTRONIC GAMES, I-PODS OR EXPENSIVE ITEMS.

Do you agree to your child being given a Junior Calpol sachet (if this is a normal thing to be administered to your child) in the event of toothache, prolonged headache or a really sore throat. Telephone contact would be made and permission sought if more than 2 Junior Calpol sachets were needed.

If you use something else for your child for a prolonged headache for example; please can you send in sachets or medication in a named, suitable small container so that the group leader can keep this safe and administer if necessary. Please supply clear written instructions with whatever is sent in.
