On Friday, pupils at Newquay Junior Academy were lucky enough to have Dreya Bennett come to talk them in assembly. Dreya enthralled us all with tales from her exciting life, with her visit being part of our ‘Inspiring Adults’ initiative at the academy. She told of her childhood in Africa, her dream of becoming a professional artist and all her adventures along the way. Pupils were transfixed by her recounts of competing in TV’s Gladiators, professional wing-walking, kitesurfing across from Cornwall to Ireland and, ultimately, achieving her dream of being a successful artist with a gallery and workshop in Newquay. Dreya answered many questions from the pupils and admitted that she still wishes to be a stunt-person too! All at Newquay Junior Academy would like to thank her very much for coming in and enthusing us all.
