Beach walk

Beach walk

On Tuesday, 3BR and 3JJ went on a beach walk. The aim of the beach walk was to carry out an environmental survey of the provision of bins along the route and the amount of rubbish we found on the beach. Happily, we spotted plenty of bins with a bin man busy emptying them, and we found very little litter on the beach. The beach looked fantastic.

We looked at the shellfish and considered the impact of micro-plastics on marine life and we drew sand pictures that included environmental messages. We also learned how to orientate ourselves using landmarks on a map.

During our visit, we had a picnic on the beach, played in the rock-pools and walked across Newquay Bay. We felt very fortunate to have such a beautiful environment on the doorstep to our academy!
