This week, Year 5 finished their amazing first half-term in style by visiting Geevor Mine for a day trip.
The trip was spread over two days (the 20th and 21st October), with two classes attending on each day.
Pupils had a chance to go down into a real life mine tunnel and could experience the sights and smells of an authentic Cornish tin mine.
All pupils had a chance to hand drill and operate machinery and even managed to pan for gems and gold!
Staff at Geevor said that Newquay Junior pupils were a pleasure to have and that Year 5 were born miners!
