Gifted and Talented Science Workshop

Newquay Junior’s year 4,5 and 6 gifted and talented pupils visited Newquay Tretherras School on Thursday 28th March.

There were also pupils from St Columb Minor School and they had to build a wind turbine using certain equipment that would be able to lift a cup containing chocolate buttons. There was a prize for the team who lifted the most buttons. Mrs Ellis Davies and Year 7 pupils were there to help.

Equipment- paper plate, A4 piece of card, 1m of cellotape, pencil, 2 straws, string, cup and some plastosine.

The winning model was from our school (of course) and lifted 4 chocolate buttons.

The pupils enjoyed the visit especially eating the buttons at the end!
