Last week was a busy week with sporting events on the calendar as Newquay Schools held their Commonweath Games. Congratulations to our Tag Rugby Team, Striking and Fielding Team and Futsal Teams who all won their events. Also, for Athletics the Year 3&4 Relay Team won their race and Ben Wilkins came first in the 60m sprint. Throwing for Year 4 was won by James Cockell, and the Standing Long Jump winner was

Olive Varlett. We had many pupils placed 2nd and 3rd in Athletics events. Sportability and Wake & Shake, Archery, Climbing and Trampolining were other activities that the children took part in.

Well done to all our fantastic sports stars who participated!

Newquay Junior Academy – World Cup 2014

Our own World Cup matches are going well and we hope soon to announce which country has won the Final!

Reminder:  NON-UNIFORM DAY on

Thursday 26th June. Please send your child in with a donated luxury item for the tombola stall at the Summer Fayre.

Year 6 London Visit & Activity Week

The Year 6 Activity Week and London Residential Visit were both a great success last month. The children on Activity Week enjoyed a variety of activities such as Segway, Adrenalin Quarry, Flambards, Horseriding and many many more!

The London visit also went extremely well and the children were a credit to both yourselves and the Academy – their behaviour was exemplary. As an added bonus the children also had the fantastic experience of seeing the Queen on more than one occasion.

ParentPay

A letter will shortly be going out to our Year 6 parents with regard to balancing your child’s account for the end of the academic year.

Thank you for keeping your dinner money accounts in credit. We would like to assure you that your child will always be provided with a lunch, however, tuck may be refused if your account is in debit. We hope this action will help parents to avoid accumulating a debt on their account. Thank you for your continued support.

Year 5 – Hazard Alley

Year 5 children have had their annual visit to Hazard Alley at Newquay Fire Station learning about health and safety awareness out and about in everyday life.

Titan the Robot

Many of the children were lucky enough to take part in a visit from ‘Titan the Robot’ who visited the Academy recently. He entertained both children and staff during the morning as part of a TV pilot show. Great fun was had by all!

A big thank you to all parents who attended the
