PUPILS from schools around Newquay donned superhero costumes – and, in some cases, their pyjamas – on Friday to help raise money for Children In Need.
They took part alongside schoolchildren from across the country for this year’s Children In Need fundraiser, which supports projects for children and young people in the UK.
Youngsters at Newquay Junior Academy got into the spirit by dressing up as superheroes while they put away their school books and spent the day doing fun activities.
Barbara Robinson, from the academy, said: “The children and their families have made a fantastic effort, producing some amazing and entertaining superhero costumes.
“The support our community gives to national and local initiatives is so great, and the response to Children In Need has been no exception.
“The pupils have raised well in excess of £500 through contributions and cake sales.
“They are very proud of their achievements and keen to help out children less well off than themselves,” she said.
