10 Year 5 boys, who are working towards The Pegasus Award, spent the day at Newquay Forest School yesterday. The Award is aimed at primary school pupils and is similar to The Duke of Edinburgh scheme. It promotes team building and emotional intelligence, that makes pupils feel good about themselves.
The group enjoyed making their own fishing rods and building a shelter in the woods. They enjoyed tasting Wood Sorrel but sadly there were no fish to accompany it! They built their own bows and carved butter knives from Hazelwood. They learnt how to make a fire so they could toast the marshmallows and pop the corn. Trees were hugged and friendships made. A day to remember for the whole group.
