I am delighted to hear that your child has been offered a place to study at Newquay Tretherras for the next stage of their education, and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you personally to our school family, where we pride ourselves on our happy, friendly school ethos and the warmth of our welcome.
Over the coming months we will be engaging in a number of processes and activities to ensure that your child’s transition to secondary education is a successful and happy experience. As part of this process, I am enclosing a Parent Transfer Form for you to complete, and I would be grateful if you could do this and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday, 29th April, at the latest.
The following link gives you information about applying for Free School Meals to which your child may well be entitled. The link also has an online application form. If you already claim Free School Meals this will continue until you are notified otherwise, so please do not complete a new form.
At Newquay Tretherras we use a cashless catering system and if you are entitled to claim free school meals, please assure your child that the credit for their free school meal is done very discreetly by electronic methods. The completed form should be returned to County Hall.
The date for the Year 6 Transfer Day is Wednesday, 29th June when your child will have the opportunity to meet their Form Tutor and experience a day at Newquay Tretherras. Between 3.30pm and 5pm parents are invited into school to order the NT PE kit, and our blazer suppliers, Studs of Chester Road, will also be on hand selling/ordering blazers, skirts etc. There will also be an opportunity to meet your child’s form tutor in their form room at one of the following times, 3.30pm, 4.15pm or 5pm.
