IT Technician – 2nd line
£15,145 per annum. 37 hours per week. 52 weeks per year.
Newquay Education Trust (NET) is a Multi Academy Trust comprising of founding member schools Newquay Junior Academy and Newquay Tretherras.
The IT & Media Services Team are one of the first centralised services operating at Trust level across member sites.
The post holder will work as part of the central service team and operate from both Newquay Tretherras and Newquay Junior academies on a rotational basis with support from the wider team.
We are looking for an experienced IT Technician who is comfortable operating in a 2nd line role with some higher level working, who has excellent customer service skills combined with an experienced and/or qualified technical background.
We currently provide support across two large sites, with more sites potentially joining the Trust. We have a range of Windows-based servers and clients, as well as mixed Apple Mac estates with numerous iPads and other mobile devices. We also use some Linux and Cloud-based services. Experience in supporting a mixed environment, virtualisation, remote access and web technologies such as Moodle and WordPress would be an advantage, but not essential.
We use a well-established web-based Helpdesk product which allows direct user submission of requests, self-service and knowledgebase information, as well as email submission and live chat features. This solution organises team work, as well as ensuring communication between the team and end users remains at a consistent high quality. It also allows for team collaboration, prioritisation and escalation when required. Experience of working in this way would also be an advantage.
