Year 6 Visits to Trenance Gardens and the Gannel

Dear Parent/Carer

As part of our Geography project this term on ‘Rivers’, the Year 6 classes will be visiting Trenance Gardens and the Gannel to complete fieldwork.  Each class will be visiting on separate days and will be walking from Newquay Junior Academy before 12noon to eat our lunch down in Trenance Gardens. If you are in receipt of Free School Meals a packed lunch will be provided by the canteen.  Pupils will need to be in uniform on this day, although we do ask for your child to bring in some old trousers/shorts and shoes/wellies to wear during their visit.  We will return to Newquay Junior Academy for normal hometime. Please can you ensure that your child has the following with them on this day:

  • A packed lunch on their assigned day
  • Old trousers/shorts
  • Wellies or old shoes (they will get wet!)
  • Waterproof coat
  • Suncream and hat (weather dependent).

The allocated day for each class visit is:

Tuesday 16 May          –           6HM
Wednesday 17 May    –           6JD
Thursday 18 May        –           6AT
Friday 19 May             –           6RD
Monday 22 May          –           6JM.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely

Year 6 Team
