Yr 6 Activity day @ Newquay Forest School

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fabulous day at Newquay Forest School

They were presented with the scenario that their helicopter had crashed in the woods and were charged with looking after themselves until they could be rescued.

Shelters had to be built to keep themselves dry and warm and they learned how to make fire with a battery and with flint and steel. Bows and arrows were next on the agenda to catch food and the children learnt how to forage for free food around them.

Fortunately a few packets of marshmallows seemed to find their way into camp and that gave the children enough of a sugar rush for the trek back to civilisation.

Many thanks to Jo, Anna and Abi @newquayforestschool for such an entertaining and informative day.
