Heart Dissection

This term all pupils in Year 6 have had the opportunity to carry out a heart dissection. The quality of their work has been stellar, and they were able to apply the understanding they’ve gained to their investigation. They were able to identify valves and heartstrings whilst also working as scientists to compare the thickness of the left and right ventricle walls. They heard from a fellow pupil how a pacemaker can be used to control the heart rhythm and saw how strong, and stretchy, artery walls are.

Mr Doble and the rest of the Year 6 teachers was very impressed with just how focussed pupils were on the task.
