Skulduggery Pleasant Book Club.
Mr. Ellis-Davies has introduced the pupils to the Skulduggery Pleasant Books by Derek Landy which are illustrated by Tom Percival.
To adapt the activities linked to the book, Mr. Ellis-Davies played the audio book version for the club members too so that they could really internalise the character descriptions and dialogue from the narrator: Rupert Degas. He also reads the character 'Pantalaimon' in His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman and his deadpan and almost stony tone is perfectly suited to these stories: pupils were completely hooked and engaged.
Mr. Ellis-Davies shared his love of these books with his own children and has extended that to our NJA family, further reinforcing that teachers who read, are readers who teach and are key in sharing and promoting a love of reading.
